Event Details
Over the centuries a surprising number of clergy of St Nicholas have broken the law.
Whether they fled the country, were sentenced to stand in the stocks or were thrown in prison there is a comprehensive set of criminals in St Nicholas’s past. And not all have been for what you think would be the reasons! Come and find out about some dirty rotten scoundrels.
You are very welcome to this series of Talks and Walks in which Jeff Richards, a trustee of the Friends of St Nicholas Churchyard, explores some of the stories from St Nicholas’s and Sutton’s past. He is a partial, prejudiced & ignorant historian and everything he says will cause proper historians to throw up their hands in horror.
