Following their barnstorming peformance at The Sound Lounge in 2022, The British Bluescasting Corporation return on Saturday April 29th for another glorious night of toe-tapping, feel-good rhythm and blues!
The British Bluescasting Corporation are Bob Cranham, Dave Williamson, Ben Keen and Barry Cook. Four great musicians who have played everywhere and with just about everyone. Their friendship is strong and is revealed in their self deprecating humour and sense of fun that they bring to The BBC’s gigs. Let’s meet the band:
Bob plays guitar and sings. He has strummed and picked for John Denver, Five Star, Newton Faulkner and Michael Nyman among others. He has also produced over 50 top 40 albums.
Dave is the bassist in the band. He also provides vocals. He has worked with Lisa Stansfield, Heatwave, The Crazy World of Arthur Brown, Beverly Knight, Midge Ure, Maggie Reilly and Katrina & The Waves.
Ben is described by Bob as “the second best guitarist in the band” and his partership with Bob, weaving together licks and tricks makes him an indespensible part of the band.
Barry has played drums and percussion professionally for over 40 years and has played with The Drifters, The Three Degrees, Martha Reeves and Ben E King. He also joined Abba tribute band Bjorn Again and toured the world.
It’s gonna be a great night. Guaranteed to bring a smile to your face as well as a tap to your toe!
