The English Arts Chorale and Orchestra
On Saturday, October 8th, conductor Leslie Olive with The English Arts Chorale and Orchestra, joined by the Eye Bach Choir, will perform Vaughan Williams’ first and second symphonies. A rare opportunity to hear both the impressive, crashing, meditative Sea Symphony and the atmospheric London Symphony, with its echoes of street cries and the chimes of Big Ben, in the same concert. Soloists for the evening are soprano Elin Pritchard and baritone Gareth Brynmor Jones. The folk artist Moose Rosser will also perform a selection of related folk songs. Join us for this tuneful and varied celebration in the same week as the 150th anniversary of Ralph Vaughan Williams’ birth.
This concert will be repeated the following Saturday in St Edmundsbury Cathedral, Bury St Edmunds. The English Arts Chorale has been performing live music in Surrey and beyond for over 40 years and is excited to present this concert of local relevance.
