🎨🍷 Beginners Watercolour & Acrylic Paint and Sip Workshops – Carshalton, Sutton & Purley!

Hello Everyone!

Just a little note to let you know that I’ll be running some Beginners Watercolour and Acrylic Painting workshops this week, with some lovely new references to work from! 🙂

In each class, we’ll begin with a simple line drawing, exploring proportions and observing positive and negative space, before moving on to colour mixing and painting techniques relevant to the artist and medium we’re studying.

These workshops are ideal for anyone new to drawing and painting, or those looking to build their confidence in colour mixing, brushwork and layering techniques. We’ll explore different approaches depending on the medium, with plenty of guidance along the way.

I’ve included a short introduction to each workshop below, along with the Eventbrite links where you can find further details and book your place.

🐕🎨 Watercolour Paint and Sip: John Singer Sargent’s Woman with a Collie
📅 Tuesday 27 October | 7–9pm
📍The Hope, Carshalton – #TheHopeCarshalton

Explore Sargent’s beautiful fluid washes, confident brushwork and luminous use of colour. We’ll look at how he preserves the white of the paper and uses just a few expressive marks to capture light, form and character.

This workshop is particularly good for anyone who tends to overwork their paintings or finds it difficult to leave areas of white paper untouched. We’ll practise loosening up our brushwork to create a fresh, vibrant result.

✨ Absolute beginners welcome – no previous painting experience needed!
Whether you’re looking to try something new, develop your painting skills or simply enjoy a relaxed and creative evening, I’d love to see you there.

Come along with a friend or on your own – everyone is welcome!

Just a little reminder to please let me know in advance if you’re planning to come, even if it’s only on the day itself. It really helps me make sure everything is prepared and ready for you.

Looking forward to painting and catching up with you soon! 🙂

All best wishes,

Catherine 🎨💕
