New Butterfly Bank creates a space for nature in Carshalton Park

This ‘butterfly bank’ in Carshalton Park is maturing nicely. It’s a man-made chalky mound that is perfect for growing wildflower species to benefit butterflies and other pollinators.

Sutton is close to the chalky landscape of the North Downs, and Rewild London have funded several of these banks. The banks provide a chain of natural areas across the borough to help support declining insect populations. What else can be done to support wildlife in Sutton?
