This popular dog walkers paradise has a surprising history uncovered on this circular walk.
Take a look at the indents in the soil, showing the position of trenches dug by Canadian forces training ahead of D-Day on 6 June 1944. Once they would have been at least 2 metres deep.
Go past the lodge belonging to the mansion that once housed British and Canadian troops, and which burnt down in the 1950s.
Then see the grand Bellasis house that still stands, which was one of six initial Special Training Schools (STS) for secret agents of the Special Operations Executive (SOE).
Finally see the beautiful Brimmer wildlife pond, near to the crash site of two planes both within 30 minutes of each other in September 1941.
Stop off for a cup of tea from the truck that is often in the car park.
