FOR SALE – see inside the 300 year old Rectory before it goes into private hands following 80 years of council ownership

*News* It’s a rare survivor of an intact English rectory and is a charming part of Historic Carshalton. In recognition of this it has Grade 2* listed status.

It was owned by the church for many years before going into private hands. In 1943 it was going to be demolished but the Urban District Council of the time stepped in to save it for posterity.

There is a fear that the historic character and structure of the building could deteriorate further now it’s on the open market.

Several buildings of historic character in Carshalton which are now in private hands have been left to fall into disrepair, such as North Lodge and the Fox and Hounds pub – with seemingly very little central legislation can do anything about.

Carter Jonas markets the building and accepts sealed bids only.

The last time the old rectory was open to the public was at the 2015 Frost Fair. What are your memories of inside The Old Rectory?
