We will meet at noon at the Tower Door of St Nicholas. This walk and talk will stress the importance of chalk and limestone in the development of Sutton.
You are very welcome to this series of Talks and Walks in which Jeff Richards, a trustee of the Friends of St Nicholas Churchyard, explores some of the stories from St Nicholas’s and Sutton’s past. He is a partial, prejudiced & ignorant historian and everything he says will cause proper historians to throw up their hands in horror.

These are the clerks who prepared the king’s documents. Before the 1430s, official records were mainly in Latin and French, but after that date mainly in an English dialect. Two of the vicars of Sutton were instrumental in this process.
