The Stunning Watermill Pub and a Wander Around Denbies Vineyard in Dorking

*lazy wknds* About 20 minutes by car from Carshalton*. This is the Watermill pub in Dorking where you can sit in the peaceful garden looking up at the famous Box Hill. It’s a sunny spot with comfy seating and a lots of menu options.

Walk off a meal with a short circular wander around nearby Denbies hillside, with views across the Surrey Hills. Park at Denbies Vineyard, which since opening in 1984 has expanded with such things as a hotel, various restaurants, wine tours (with land train pictured) and a farm shop. There are various signposted footpaths, or download a free tracking app for your phone.

There’s a short and easy 2.5 mile circular walk from the Denbies Vineyard Car Park. Walk uphill from the car park, turn left and then it flattens out. Cut through some trees and past some historic buildings. You then do a gradual downhill walk with a wonderful viewpoint across the vineyard.
