*Local Walks* This incredible oddity is the only remaining wind-powered sawmill in the UK – and it’s just 25 minutes from Carshalton.

An unusually small windmill, built around 1860, there were only ever around 15 – 20 recorded across Britain.

This interesting feature is situated in the back garden of a house in Buckland village. It sometimes opens to the public.

Our 3-mile circular walk starts and ends at The Pheasant. A lovely pub with lots of parking and a view across fields out the back.

The trail takes in beautiful views across the Surrey countryside.

You’ll spot horses, wildflowers and charming disused mill buildings and a picturesque mill pond.

Along the way are old flower-clad farm cottages to appreciate before finishing off with a deckchair rest at the pub.
