Artistic pamphlet produced when Little Holland House was first Grade II listed

Secret Carshalton recently came across some old publications related to Carshalton and this book caught our eye.

Frank R Dickinson (1874 – 1961) lived at 40 Beeches Avenue in Carshalton Beeches and built and designed virtually everything to do with the house – all in an Arts and Crafts style.

The house was purchased by Sutton Council circa 1972.

It’s open to the public the first Sunday of the month, and this is often highlighted on the Secret Carshalton What’s On section.

The book was written by Douglas Cluett and the artwork and design was by Shirley Edwards. The biographical details were provided by Mr and Mrs Dickinson, his son and daughter in law.

It was published by Sutton Council in 1974, the year the house was first Grade II listed.
