Carshalton Jazz Presents - Liane Carroll

Liane Carroll is an international star with links to Carshalton, so it is a particular delight for Carshalton Jazz to welcome her for this very special concert with her trio.

Liane spent part of her childhood in Carshalton before going on to forge her illustrious career, working with musicians as varied as Trevor Watts’ Moiré Music, Long John Baldry and Drum’n’Bass artist London Elektricity. She has received countless awards, including best vocalist in the BBC jazz awards, 2005, jazz album of the year for ‘Up and Down’ in the Parliamentary Jazz Awards, 2012, and best British jazz vocalist in the British Jazz Awards, 2016. She has a regular Christmas residency at Ronnie Scott’s and is a frequent performer at the 606 club and Pizza Express
Hailed by Dave Gelly of the Observer as ‘one of the most stylistically flexible pianists around with a marvellous slightly husky singing voice’, Liane’s music has everything you could want – emotion, swing, subtlety and power.
