Born in Carshalton, Liane first appeared on stage at the former Carshalton Hall at the age of six – a venue now known as Cryer Arts. She has not returned to perform in the town since the 1970s, around the time her family moved to Hastings.

Over the past four decades, Liane has become one of Britain’s most celebrated jazz performers. Renowned for her powerful voice, exceptional piano playing and deeply emotional performances, she has won multiple jazz awards and has been described by critics as one of the finest vocal talents on the UK jazz scene.

Homecoming performance

Liane will perform at All Saints Church, accompanied by a bassist and drummer. The concert will also make full use of the church’s grand piano, providing an ideal setting for her distinctive blend of jazz, blues and soul.

Organisers say the homecoming performance is a unique opportunity to see a world-class artist in an intimate local venue and are expecting strong interest from jazz fans across the area.

For Carshalton residents, the concert represents a remarkable full-circle moment – welcoming back a musician whose journey began on a local stage before taking her to international acclaim.
