*Historical* This charming old photo is a lovely glimpse into the past. It shows people on the platform at Carshalton station going about their everyday lives.
The people are smartly dressed. There are two men with top hats on the right, one has removed it. Who are they? Where are they going?

There’s a young man with a boater-syle hat.

Plus there’s a shot of the old Signal Box, from when steam trains would thunder through the station.

The original 1868 station was a simple wood clad structure. This photo is believed to be dated 1880. The station was updated to what you see today in 1902.

I’m unclear on dates. The original station was wood, built in 1868. This photo is supposedly 1880, The current station is 1902, and looking at the chimneys this photo predates that – the style of chimney is different. So more research needed.
