Tucked away along Old Watercress Walk – a name steeped in Carshalton’s history – Logo Fiasco Records is an achingly cool vintage treasure trove for anyone with a passion for vinyl. This is the kind of place you don’t stumble upon by accident; you make a point of visiting. And it’s worth the trip.

Owner Richard has been running the shop for just over a year. A fan of the weird and the abstract, he’s passionate about both music and the artwork that goes with it.

Holding up Pink Floyd’s 1968 album, he smiles. “I like the fact that they don’t show their faces. It’s not about them; it’s about the music. And that’s how I feel too,” he says.

Richard and his wife Venessa’s journey into the world of record sales began at a car boot sale at St Philomena’s – a huge and much-loved local event held in the grounds of the convent school. “I wasn’t enjoying my previous job and needed a change,” he admits. “Now this is full time.”
These days, his time is spent cleaning and restoring old records, sourcing new stock, and maintaining the shop’s website – they sell via an online music marketplace called Discogs. He also writes a blog, sharing stories from behind the counter.

Logo Fiasco attracts a broad mix of visitors. Some are newcomers to vinyl – something Richard confesses makes him “a bit jealous” – while others treat the shop like a museum, coming to soak up the nostalgia.
When the store fills with record enthusiasts, it feels, he says, like a genuine community hub.

As the turntable spins and the soft crackle of an old record fills the air, it’s easy to see why people linger. Logo Fiasco Records isn’t just a shop – it’s a space where stories, sounds, and memories come to life.
Logo Fiasco Records is located at 39 High Street, Carshalton (behind Cryer Arts). It’s a premium member of the Secret Carshalton directory. View the full listing (with map) here. Photos and content © Secret Carshalton
