There’s a woodland café hidden in the Surrey Hills – and you CAN’T reach it by car

This walk takes about 25 minutes to reach an unusual place called ‘Coffee in the Copse’ – it’s unreachable directly by car.

At the secret cafe we were served by a friendly Polish lady who has ran the place for the last couple of years or so.

The Surrey Hills location is surprisingly difficult to find as there is no car park or public transport close by.

There are about 4 car parks to choose from and the closest is the Nower and Milton Heath Car Park, which we went from.

  1. Ranmore Car park
  2. Redlands car park
  3. Broadmore Car park
  4. The Nower and Milton Heath Car Park

The coffee shop is open Friday to Sunday between 9am and 3pm. They mostly serve homemade cakes, and hot or cold drinks. There are limited savoury snacks such as sausage rolls or croissants.

As far as we’re aware there’s an accessible toilet on site. The route we took would not be suitable for wheelchairs, and would be quite muddy after heavy rain.
