A bottle of whisky was one of the many prizes on a bottle Tombola stall belonging to Wallington Animal Rescue, but fortunately it was never won.
It was put into storage, and when having a clear-out the bottle was spotted by chance, and recognised as being high value.
The auction took place on 5 January 2022 and the Macallan 15 year old, bottled by Gordon & Macphail, with a starting bid of just £10, eventually sold for a staggering £1600. It raised some much needed funds for the popular local charity. Wallington Animal Rescue is a husband and wife non-profit voluntary charity dedicated to the rescuing of domestic animals.
