Postcards to Australia discovered showing Carshalton in the 1960s

Check out these hand-coloured photos of well-known Carshalton scenes. They are provided here with kind permission of Andrea Charlton, who now lives in Australia. She said: “I thought you all might enjoy the Greetings from Carshalton postcard my parents bought to send home when we lived there in the early sixties. Can anyone find recent photos of the same spots? I love that sort of thing…🖐”

I’ve still got the originals somewhere. I’ll see if I can find them as there may be a date on the back. I’ve noticed that others from my parents collection were obviously images captured well before they bought them so perhaps nobody minded?
