Full details on the return of the Anne Boleyn statue to Carshalton

*News* Sutton Housing Partnership have just announced when the much-missed Anne Boleyn statue is due to return to her plinth.

There will be a grand unveiling on Monday 19 May 2025 at 11am. It will take place at Church Hill in Carshalton village.

The statue has been gifted to Sutton Housing Partnership by the family of the sculptor “for ownership and safekeeping”.

Many people behind the scenes have been working hard to make this happen. For example, Clive Green, Catriona Haywood and Robert Thomas Walker. Jet Flow UK who are based in Chiselhurst will be providing complimentary services, using their equipment to hoist the heavy wooden sculpture into position.

Below is the invite provided to Secret Carshalton. The first one we received had the address incorrectly as Anne Boleyn’s Walk in Cheam, but was quickly rectified.

The date coincides with Anne Boleyn’s execution at the Tower of London in 1536.

SHP are still keen for the formation of a small local group, committed to looking out for her wellbeing and protection for many years to come. This would be a volunteer group with responsibility for helping to manage fundraising for repairs and maintenance, and to keep a general eye on the wooden sculpture.
