Explore Wimbledon and Putney Commons

*Localish Walks* About 30 minutes by car from Carshalton brings you to the wonderful Wimbledon and Putney Commons. This is one of my favourite places as it’s a great mix of history, architecture, open space and eateries.

There’s the old Wimbledon Windmill which also has a museum inside and a reasonably priced cafe next door.

Also a photo of the Fox and Grapes pub, which is a nearby upmarket eatery.

It’s good to see that the London Scottish Golf Club has taken down a high barrier and has now opened up its bar to the public. Such a fascinating old building.

Finally a shot of Queensmere Pond.

🗝 There’s plenty of paths to explore, just turn up and see what you can find. Parking is available in some nearby roads (we parked near the Fox and Grapes pub) or on the common itself. Other modes of transportation are available.
