The Liberal Democrats achieved their strongest result ever, winning 51 of the 55 available seats.
Labour held on to one seat, while Reform gained two.
The first-past-the-post voting system used in council elections tends to amplify vote share into seat share dramatically, which is partly why winning 51 seats does not necessarily mean 93% of residents voted Liberal Democrat.
